Japan JUMPs into Boise

On July 23rd, JUMP hosted an event to help kick off the beginning of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. The Olympic opening ceremony was streamed on the “JUMPtron” while the public could experience different aspects of Japan’s culture. Over 4,000 people came to participate in various activities that were offered. Some of these activities and events include:

JUMP will continue streaming the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on the big screen during Boise’s warm summer evenings until August 2nd.

Idaho Japan Trade Brunch Event

The Idaho Japan Trade Brunch was an opportunity for various companies and individuals to learn more about trade between Idaho and Japan. Consul General Masaki Shiga connected with Idaho government officials, Idaho educators, members of the Japanese American Leadership Delegation of 2019, and many more on July 23rd. This event was sponsored by the Consular Office of Japan in Portland.

Step Grant

The State of Idaho has received a State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) Grant of $207,945 for program years September 30, 2020 – September 29, 2021. STEP is funded in part through a grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and is administered by Idaho Commerce. The goals of STEP are to increase the number of small businesses that export, increase the value of exports and increase the number of small businesses exploring significant new trade opportunities.

The application period for the Kallman Digital Showcase is open now.
